KYLE, Texas — A Central Texas man was arrested this week after police say he sexually assaulted a woman and injured both her and her young child.

John Albiter, 25, was arrested by Kyle police on Thursday. He is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home, sexually assaulting her and physically assaulting both her and her 7-year-old child.

He was initially arrested on July 8 for Assault Family Violence-Impeding Breath, or strangulation. Albiter initially said he did not go to his ex-girlfriend's house, but law enforcement officials were eventually able to prove he did, gathering enough evidence for a new arrest warrant.

The warrant was issued on Thursday and executed in the 300 block of North Meyer Street.

Albiter also faces the following charges: Sexual Assault, Injury to a Child, Harassment and Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Commit Other Felony.

“We are thankful for the thorough investigative work done by our officers and detectives in this case,” Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said, “We take all forms of violence very serious, and we are committed to holding individuals accountable for their actions to keep our community members safe.”
