KYLE, Texas — Kyle police have arrested a suspect after a shooting at a 7-Eleven convenience store off Interstate Highway 35 on Monday afternoon.
The Kyle Police Department said just before 5 p.m., officers were called to a report of a shooting at the 7-Eleven at 20925 I-35, near a KFC restaurant.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Police said the victim was shot during an attempted robbery and the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Kyle man Edward Ramirez, had already fled the scene.
EMS arrived on the scene and took the victim to a nearby hospital, where they are in a stable condition, Kyle police said on Tuesday.
At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Monday, Kyle police located Ramirez at an Exxon Mobile at 18701 I-35 and arrested him. Officers also located the gun believed to have been used in the attempted robbery in Ramirez's possession.
Ramirez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. He also faces previous warrants for traffic violations and failing to appear, police said. He is currently being held in the Hays County Jail.
