Man allegedly poses as pizza delivery man, zip-ties victim’s hands, ankles

According to the affidavit, the man pulled a gun out of the pizza delivery bag and forced himself inside of the woman's house where he and another male suspect tied the woman's hands and ankles with zip ties.

A man has been arrested after police said he posed as a pizza delivery man, forced himself inside of a woman's apartment and zip-tied her hands and ankles, police said.

On Feb. 19, 2017, police responded to a robbery after a witness reported that a woman had been robbed and had her hands tied behind her back with zip ties, according to an arrest affidavit.

The victim allegedly told police that while she was alone inside her apartment, she heard a knock on her door and heard a man say, "Delivery." According to the affidavit, when the victim looked into the peep hole, she saw a man holding a pizza warming bag and opened the door.

The man, who police identified as Cleve Dantron Marcel Rayshun Franklin, 24, then allegedly pulled out a gun from inside the pizza bag and pointed it at the victim before pushing himself inside her apartment. A second suspect then came from around the corner and walked into her apartment, police said.

Franklin and the other suspect then allegedly demanded weed and money from the victim as they pointed guns at her. According to the affidavit, Franklin and the other suspect stole the victim's rent money and ransacked her apartment to look for other items to steal.

Franklin and the suspect then zip-tied the victim's hands and ankles and told her to stay in her room, police said. The victim was later able to break free from the zip ties that were around her ankles and ran outside where she told the witness about the incident, according to police.

According to the affidavit, the witness was able to call 9-1-1 and helped the victim break free from the zip-ties around her hands.

When officers arrived on scene, they observed that the victim's wrists and angles were red due to them being tied up with the zip-ties. Police also allegedly collected evidence from her apartment including zip-ties and the pizza bag.

Police were able to obtain a fingerprint from the pizza bag which helped them identify Franklin, according to the affidavit. Franklin was later placed in the Travis County Correctional Complex, police said.

On March 21, 2018, Franklin denied working with a pizza company and denied having involvement in the robbery. No information has been provided regarding the other male suspect as of Friday afternoon.

Franklin has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and his bond is set at $30,000. Franklin is in police custody as of Friday afternoon.
