AUSTIN, Texas — A Central Texas man is under federal investigation after allegedly boarding a Delta Airlines flight without a ticket.
According to an affidavit obtained by KVUE, Wicliff Fleurizard is accused of hiding in the bathroom during a Delta flight headed from Utah to Austin.
Fleurizard boarded Delta flight #1683 on March 17 after allegedly taking photos of multiple passengers' phones and boarding passes while they weren't looking.
After boarding the flight, Fleurizard was spotted opening an emergency equipment storage door before being assisted to a lavatory. Fleurizard then allegedly waited in the bathroom as passengers boarded the flight.
When the plane started to taxi, Fleurizard was spotted leaving the bathroom, but no seats were available on the flight. Fleurizard was then questioned about his seat after a verified passenger was sitting in it.
Authorities later determined the young girl in the seat had the ticket purchased for her and that her father did not authorize anyone else to use it. Fleurizard was later spotted on surveillance footage allegedly taking a photo of the young girl whose boarding pass he used to get on board and using his phone to board the plane.
According to the affidavit, Fleurizard later admitted he made a mistake, saying he was only trying to get home following a snowboarding trip.
