CHINA SPRING, Texas — A 36-year-old man is facing murder charges for allegedly killing a 38-year-old woman in China Spring over the weekend.
The McLennan County Sheriff's Office said they arrested Richard Tanner Ozment. He reportedly killed the unidentified woman in the 1500 block of Old China Spring Road on Saturday.
Sheriff Parnell McNamara called the murder "brutal and senseless."
This news comes after the China Spring Volunteer Fire Department (CSVFD) urged residents to keep a look out for anyone or anything suspicious in the area of Old China Spring Road and Oklahoma Street earlier in the day.
Ozment has been booked into the McLennan County Jail on a Murder charge and Parole Violation. His is being held on $1 million bail.
