AUSTIN, Texas — A Travis County jury has sentenced a man to 60 years in prison after convicting him of three felonies in September.
Dublas Vasquez, 25, was convicted of aggravated kidnapping sexual abuse and two counts of sexual assault on Sept. 26. The jury returned a guilty verdict for Vasquez after 45 minutes of deliberation.
The following day, he was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the aggravated kidnapping sexual abuse conviction and 20 years each for the sexual assault convictions, which will be served concurrently with the 60-year sentence.
Vasquez was arrested and charged on Sept. 25, 2023, in connection to an incident that occurred on March 27, 2023. He was formally indicted on each count in December 2023.
“Our office is grateful to our dedicated staff and law enforcement partners who worked tirelessly to hold the defendant accountable and seek justice for the victims,” Travis County District Attorney José Garza said regarding the conviction. “We hope these verdicts continue to help the victims with their healing process.”
