Manor neighbors react to apparent drive-by shooting close to their homes

The Manor Police Department said the drive-by shooting happened close to 6 a.m., along Almodine Road in the Stonewater neighborhood.

MANOR, Texas — Manor police need help tracking down the people responsible for an apparent drive-by shooting in the Stonewater neighborhood that happened on July 21, close to 6 a.m., along Almodine Road.

KVUE spotted bullet holes that were left on the home targeted. Investigators said multiple shots were fired, but they did not report any injuries.

Melvin Thomas, who lives nearby, said he woke up to police officers knocking on his door and informing him of what unfolded.

"It's a lot of different things that's going on that the police need to get a hold of. It is mostly teenagers, you know, and we all know about the kid in Manor who shot the people at the Juneteenth [festival in Round Rock]. He was from down here, too. So it's getting kind of bad," Thomas said.

Manor police released surveillance images of two people they are searching for, but it is difficult to make out who the individuals are. A detective on the case said they are relying on the community's help to track those responsible down. They are asking for any footage that could lead to an arrest.

They also listed out the description of the vehicle, which they believe is a Dodge Charger or Challenger that was seen in the area at the time of the shooting.

Thomas is one of many neighbors who mentioned this isn't the first dangerous incident they have encountered.

"All neighbors got to come together and, you know, be more aware of everything, you know, and try to do our best to look out for each other and try to help law enforcement. But, you know, they got to step it up too," Thomas said.
