AUSTIN, Texas — Five people have been arrested following a chase in Pflugerville Sunday morning.
According to the Pflugerville Police Department, officers located a stolen vehicle with five occupants at around 4:40 a.m. Sunday. When officers attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle sped off, initiating a chase.
The pursuit ended in the Hidden Lakes subdivision. Three of the suspects in the vehicle ran off on foot, while the remaining two stayed and were immediately arrested.
During the foot chase, one of the suspects fired multiple shots toward police and one officer returning fire. No one was shot during the course of the incident.
Police were able to eventually establish a perimeter and arrest the remaining three suspects.
The Pflugerville Police Department was assisted by the Round Rock Police Department and the Travis County Sheriff's Office in making the arrests.
The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident because an officer firing their weapon.
Pflugerville police have not released the names of the suspects.
