Police arrest suspect in assault of New Braunfels students

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Police arrested a 67-year-old man Thursday who allegedly shot pellets at New Braunfels High band members while they practiced at the school.

According to New Braunfels police, William Henry Kloss shot at students during band practice Tuesday afternoon with a pellet gun, hitting two students. Both students had minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

Kloss was arrested without incident around 12:30 p.m. Thursday on two charges of felony aggravated assault. He was booked into the Comal County Jail on $25,000 total bond.

If convicted, Kloss faces 2-20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
