Police are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect wanted in connection to indecent exposure incidents at a San Marcos apartment complex, one of which involved a minor.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect wanted in connection to indecent exposure incidents at a San Marcos apartment complex, one of which involved a minor.

According to San Marcos police, Jaykob Andrew Ruiz, 18, exposed himself at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Champions Boulevard. Police said the incidents happened around 9 a.m. on April 27 and around 8 p.m. on May 4. The second incident involved two women, one of whom is a minor.

Police said in the first incident Ruiz removed most of his clothing and asked a woman to turn the lights off. The woman gathered her things to leave, at which point she noticed he was completely naked. He partially redressed and followed the woman out, police said, and apologized for ruining her workout.

In the second incident, Ruiz allegedly removed most of his clothing and worked out on several machines before completely disrobing. He then allegedly asked the women to turn off the lights before getting on a treadmill.

Apartment management reported the incident to police on May 5 after their corporate office received a complaint. Police said officers went door-to-door with surveillance images of the suspect. SMPD was able to identify an additional victim and the suspect.

Police have charged Ruiz with indecent exposure and indeceny with a child. Anyone with information on his whereabouts, or anyone who may be a victim is asked to call San Marcos Police Detective Robert Elrod at 512-753-2132 or Hays County Crime Stoppers at 800-324-8477.
