AUSTIN, Texas — The Elgin Police Department (EPD) arrested four people in connection to a drug trafficking operation that had originated at a property within the city.
On Friday, police conducted a raid at 817 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and arrested Angela Alvarado, Ivan Cook, Anthony Joiner and Jamaal Bradley on various drug charges. Alvarado and Joiner are charged with delivery of a controlled substance, cocaine - a felony. Cook is charged with felony of delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and Bradley is charged with a felony of delivery of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
In Friday's raid, EPD detectives seized numerous firearms, narcotics, electronics and money.
Elgin police say they have conducted a number of investigations over the last year about various disturbances at the property, including violent crimes, drug trafficking and a double murder. EPD also said they had previously arrested a number of people at the same location for possessing narcotics like fentanyl, methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
EPD said they have requested assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in the investigation.
During the raid, Elgin police were assisted by the DEA's offices in Austin and Houston, as well as the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office.
