ROUND ROCK, Texas — The city of Round Rock is recovering after two people were killed and 14 others were injured in a shooting Saturday night.
The incident happened during the city's Juneteenth festival, where a lineup of live musicians performed for the crowd at Old Settlers Park.
In the days since the shooting, some of those performers have shared messages to social media.
Louisiana-based R&B singer Lloyd posted a paragraph to Instagram which said in part, "Multiple people hit, as my band was setting up for the show. This years Juneteenth Festival has been prematurely ended, and I'm so sorry I didn't get the chance to perform for the thousands of families to who stayed all day to see me perform."
The post continued, "I pray that everyone makes it home safely and I hope to be able to come back to Round Rock, Texas and celebrate love and life in the future."
Lloyd was listed as the last act of the night, set to go on stage at 11 p.m. Just before his performance, Round Rock police said a man in his early 20s shot multiple people, including children.
An hour before Lloyd was supposed to go on, Texas rapper and DJ Paul Wall entertained the audience. Wall commented on Lloyd's Instagram post with a series of broken hearts and posted the following statement to his own Facebook page: "Prayers up for Round Rock! This truly hurts my heart."
In the moments leading up to the shooting, DJ Dat Boy Play was performing for the crowd. He posted to Instagram Sunday morning, saying, "I'm heartbroken by the tragic events at the Round Rock festival, where we lost two lives and many were injured. My deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. As the DJ/host of the event, I am devastated and my thoughts and prayers are with the entire community."
Singer Sean Ardoin took the stage earlier in the evening, at 8 p.m. He shared a video to Instagram with the following caption: "Prayers to all the affected and their families and thanks to all who reached to check on me, love yall."
As of June 17, the Round Rock Police Department continues to work alongside the FBI to search for a suspect.
