ROUND ROCK, Texas — A Round Rock man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened nearly a month ago.

The U.S. Marshals said Thursday that the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested 30-year-old Jalen Levon Williams on Wednesday, Oct. 16, on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Marshals said Williams was identified as the suspect in a shooting in the 1300 block of Zephyr Lane in Round Rock on Sept. 25. Round Rock Police Department officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting and, when they arrived, found a male victim who had been shot in the leg. He was transported to a nearby medical facility.

The affidavit for the incident stated that the shooting stemmed from a physical fight between Williams and the victim, in the intersection of Southwestern Trail and Zephyr Lane. Williams allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Williams shortly after the incident, and authorities requested assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to find and arrest Williams.

On Oct. 16, members of the task force arrested Williams in the 9700 block of Brown Lane in Austin. He was booked into the Williamson County Jail, where he will await further proceedings.
