'Our house feels tainted' | Round Rock mom speaks out after son carjacked in driveway

Round Rock police are asking anyone with video, photos or information related to this incident to contact them.

AUSTIN, Texas — Round Rock police are searching for four men they say carjacked a teenager at gunpoint in his driveway.

Many let out a sigh of relief after making it home from a long day, but over the weekend, that sense of comfort was taken away from Tiffany David's family.

"I hear him pounding on my back door, and me and my husband are like, 'Who is that? Who is that?'" David said.

It was their 16-year-old son trying to alert them.

"He was like, 'My car is being stolen,'" David said. "'They're taking my car, call the cops. Call the cops.'"

David said her son was followed to their Round Rock home on Saturday night. She said once he pulled into the driveway, another car pulled in behind him and blocked him in. That's when three men jumped out with guns and stole his wallet and car.

"I was shocked because I could not understand. Like, is this really happening? There's no way," David said. "I was like, I can't, I can't fathom that, especially where we live."

David said they've lived in the Wood Glen neighborhood for more than 13 years. It's a place she would have called safe a few days ago.

"Oh gosh, we don't even feel safe in my home right now," David said. "Our house feels tainted."

David said, unfortunately, most of the doorbell cameras in the neighborhood didn't get clear video – just a quick shot of the two cars leaving the scene.

Round Rock police say they're still looking for the silver BMW that was stolen. They're searching for four male suspects who were wearing masks and hoodies.

"Now we have to take extra precautions," David said. "We are setting up extra cameras in our house now, and we had to drive up to sensitivity on our cameras."

David said she heard from other neighbors that their cars were broken into that night. Police are investigating to see if it's all connected.

Round Rock police said if you believe you're being followed, do not go home and call 911 for further instructions.

The case remains an active investigation. Anyone with information or video of the incident is asked to contact Det. Dwayne Riley at 512-218-6619 or email griley@roundrocktexas.gov.
