SAN MARCOS, Texas — A shooting suspect has been taken into custody following a SWAT standoff at an apartment complex in San Marcos on Monday evening.
According to a spokesperson with the City of San Marcos, at around 4:30 p.m., police received a call about a person who had been shot. That person drove themselves to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
San Marcos police later identified and attempted to detain the suspect, who barricaded themselves inside an apartment at a complex on El Rio Street.
SWAT was called in to assist around 7 p.m., the City spokesperson said.
Around 9:20 p.m., the San Marcos Police Department said the suspect had been taken into custody.
