AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department has identified a man who was shot and killed in southeast Austin on Saturday morning.
Police said at around 2:20 a.m. on Oct. 14, officers were called to an apartment complex at 1700 Burton Drive after reports of shots fired.
Officers arrived on the scene and found a victim – later identified as 50-year-old Feliciano Alvarado-Lajuj – on the ground in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Austin-Travis County EMS transported Alvarado-Lajuj to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at around 3:30 a.m.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists responded to process the scene. APD said detectives believe that Alvarado-Lajuj was shot in the parking lot by a suspect who left the area.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 53rd homicide of 2023, according to APD.
