CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas — Jury selection begins Monday in the trial of a man accused of shooting and killing an unarmed man two years ago in Caldwell County.
Terry Duane Turner is accused of shooting 31-year-old Adil Dghoughi in Martindale, Texas, on Oct. 11, 2021, after seeing Dghoughi parked in the driveway of his house. According to a 911 call, Turner claimed Dghoughi had a gun. However, police were unable to find the weapon.
Turner was indicted for murder in connection with Dghoughi's death in February 2022.
Dghoughi's family believes he was lost and pulled over for directions, ending up in front of Turner's home. His family has come to Caldwell County from Morocco to be present for Turner's trial.
The trial is expected to begin Tuesday following Monday's jury selection.
