Three arrested in San Marcos homicide

Three people, including a juvenile, are facing charges in connection to the shooting death of a New Braunfels man in San Marcos on Monday.

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Three people, including a juvenile, are facing charges in connection to the shooting death of a New Braunfels man in San Marcos on Monday.

Police said Kyle R. Sample, 19, of Three Rivers and a 14-year-old juvenile were arrested June 20 and have been charged with capital murder. Nichole Marie Moore, 39, of Beeville, was also arrested on a charge of endangering a child. Police are not identifying the juvenile due to their age.

SMPD said they believe the trio met Ryan Kincaid, 28, at the Laundry Basket along Aquarena Springs Road for a drug deal. Police responded to what was initially reported as an auto-pedestrian crash around 11:50 p.m. June 19 and found Kincaid with a single gunshot wound the chest, and SMPD said he died at the scene. Witnesses told police the suspects took Kincaid’s car and ran him over as they fled the scene.Kincaid’s car was found across the street from the scene of the murder, police said, and that officers found the three suspects at a Super 8 Motel along the Interstate 35 service road.This is San Marcos’ second homicide of 2017, police added.
