LA GRANGE, Texas — A man was arrested Sunday morning after shots were fired following a trail ride gathering in Fayette County.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 6000 block of Munke Road in La Grange at approximately 1 a.m. after reports of shots fired at a party following an annual trail ride put together by Capital City Trail-Riders (CCT).
A FSCO deputy reported hearing five to seven rapid-fire gunshots coming from the party. At that time, 911 calls came in from witnesses about shots and a fight in progress, the sheriff’s office said.
When deputies arrived, CCT’s hired security had already detained the alleged shooter and taken his firearm, FCSO said.
Kavion Joiner, 25, of Elgin was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct by way of brandishing and discharging a firearm in public. He was also charged with criminal trespassing with a firearm and failing to depart after receiving notice.
Joiner remains in custody at the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
