Two teenagers have been charged in connection to a Sunday robbery in Travis County.

According to court documents, police responded to the 1400 block of Royston Lane on Oct. 23 in reference to a robbery. The victim told police a woman grabbed him around the neck and pointed a handgun to his chest while a man took his wallet, phone and shoes. Police said as they were gathering information from the victim, they pointed out the two alleged robbers. Police detained the two, identified as Howard Haywood, 18, and Jermika Johnson, 17. The affidavit states police found the phone and money reported stolen in Johnson’s pocket, and Johnson told police she ditched the wallet in a nearby ditch. Officers located the wallet with the victim’s ID inside.

The victim told police the robbery happened in a nearby neighborhood, and dispatch told police Haywood’s residence is in the neighborhood, the affidavit states. While speaking with Haywood’s family, police saw a handgun that was allegedly used in the robbery on the floor, which was identified as an airsoft gun, and a relative advised police there were shoes in the suspect’s room that did not belong to him.

Haywood and Johnson were both arrested on a felony charge of aggravated robbery and booked into the Travis County Jail. Online jail records state Howard is being held on $30,000 bond and Johnson is being held on $25,000 bond.
