Williamson County Sheriff's Office investigating 2 overdose deaths this week

Fentanyl was discovered at the scene of both deaths.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is investigating two overdose deaths that occurred in the county this week.

According to the sheriff's office, on Monday, Aug. 26, deputies responded to a call reporting a suspected overdose death in the 2000 block of Aster Way in Round Rock. Police located a 34-year-old man who was dead at the scene.

Deputies searched the residence and seized suspected fentanyl, ketamine, marijuana and THC.

Then, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, deputies responded to another overdose call, this time in the 16000 block of Terrace Drive in Austin. Deputies arrived and discovered the body of a 34-year-old woman, who was declared dead at the scene.

Deputies searched the residence and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, LSD, Xanax and psilocybin mushrooms.

The sheriff's office said it's still actively investigating both cases.
