Maggio comes back to TV after 20 years for a deep dive into the most pressing education issues Central Texas faces today.

AUSTIN, Texas —

Judy Maggio, a beloved news anchor who shaped Austin’s KVUE-TV from 1981 to 2003, is back this fall with a special series on education in Central Texas. Starting in November, her reports, “Our Schools in Crisis,” will air during KVUE's 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts and on KVUE+.

Maggio, a news legend and standout communicator, will tackle critical issues like teacher burnout, school safety and the impact of school vouchers.

“KVUE has a special place in my heart,” she said. “I’m thrilled to return to a station committed to quality journalism.”

“Judy is an iconic presence in Austin news,” said KVUE President and General Manager Byron Wilkinson. “She’s one of the most skilled reporters in our profession, and we’re thrilled to have her rejoin our already outstanding team of journalists.”
