GEORGETOWN, Texas — Georgetown ISD is moving forward with plans for its third high school, with construction set to begin this coming spring.
The plan was discussed at the Board of Trustees meeting on Dec. 2. The new school will be located near D.B. Wood and Cedar Breaks roads in the northwest part of the city.
District officials expect the building process to take about 38 months, with construction wrapping up in May of 2028. The new campus, funded through a $649 million voter-approved bond package from last May, will accommodate more than 2,200 students.
District officials say the plot of land also has room for future middle and elementary schools.
A groundbreaking for the new high school is expected to happen in March or April of 2025.
