The building was closed for a few hours Saturday as hazmat crews worked to contain the spill.

AUSTIN, Texas — Welch Hall, a building at the University of Texas at Austin used for science and research, has reopened after it was evacuated for a few hours Saturday evening following a reported chemical spill.

According to the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD), the chemical spill was isolated inside of a lab and the building was evacuated soon thereafter.
