UTPD arrests man suspected of groping a student, indecent exposure

UTPD found a man matching the description for both the groping and indecent exposure, and arrested him on a charge of assault by contact.

AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas police arrested a man suspected in a campus assault and indecent exposure case Tuesday.

UTPD said officers responded to a report of a student being groped from behind in the 2100 block of Speedway at approximately 11:50 a.m.

Shortly thereafter, another report came in about a possible indecent exposure in the Norman Hackerman Building, UTPD said.

Police said the description of the suspect in the indecent exposure matched that of the groping incident. UTPD found a man matching the description for both cases and arrested him on charges of assault by contact and failure to identify himself.

UTPD said it is actively investigating this incident and asked that if you have any information about this crime, call 512-471-4441 and select extension 9.
