AUSTIN — After a successful 2018 Mack, Jack & McConaughey Gala raised more than $2 million for local children's charities, the high-profile trio is back at it again.
Mack Brown, Jack Ingram and Matthew McConaughey announced Tuesday that the headlining musical act for the 2019 gala will be Grammy award-winning Chris Stapleton. He'll have big boots to fill, as the Dixie Chicks drew out a huge crowd last year.
Tickets go on sale Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased here. The annual gala will be held at ACL Live at The Moody Theater on April 25.
“Chris Stapleton is such a talented musician and we are so excited to welcome him to our MJ&M gala," said McConaughey. "His unique blend of country, classic rock and Southern soul will captivate music fans and give them a night to remember.”
The actor, along with UT coaching legend Brown and recording artist Ingram, team up every year to help raise money to support the charities CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center, HeartGift, just keep livin Foundation and The Rise School of Austin.
Now in its seventh year, the two-day event continues on April 26 with a golf tournament at Spanish Oaks Golf Club and New York-style runway show and luncheon at the Hilton Hotel.
“MJ&M has set such a high standard with the caliber of talent we’ve brought to the Austin community, and Chris Stapleton keeps that trajectory soaring," said Brown. "His support means so much to us. Sally and I are truly excited to welcome Chris and [wife] Morgane to the city we call home and appreciate their commitment to our mission to change kids lives.”
