Sandra Bullock is set to star as Democratic Texas Senator Wendy Davis in the upcoming film "Let Her Speak," Variety reports.
Davis was put under the national spotlight after she tried to stall an abortion bill from passing by filibustering for 11 straight hours in June 2013. The bill's goal was to severely restrict access to abortions in Texas.
Davis spent the 11 hours by reading from a binder that contained stories of women affected by the issue and became emotional at times.
With two hours left until the midnight deadline, Davis was silenced by Republicans who challenged her on the "three strikes and you're out" rule.
Bullock, who is a former Austin resident, was reportedly "attached" to the film's script that was written by Mario Correa. Variety announced that the project will be produced by Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal through Escape. No word yet on an expected release date.
