Updates:

8:40 p.m. – Gov. Greg Abbott said Texas reported the fewest new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday since March of last year. Data, however, may be affected by the Memorial Day holiday, when many county health departments do not report new COVID-19 numbers.

Abbott also said the seven-day positivity rate average dropped to a new all-time low of 2.78% and COVID-19 hospitalizations dropped to a one-year low. Fatalities fell to the third-lowest level in 14 months, he said.
