A Beeville, Texas, woman is desperately searching for her horse. She believes it was stolen from her pasture sometime on Monday.
The horse, named Sunshine, was last seen between the hours of 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday. Sunshine's owner took to social media begging anyone with information about her horse come forward.
"You know I love the horse, you know if somebody has her, I wish the would just bring her back," owner Shannon Henson said.
Sunshine is a 24-year-old palomino horse.
"Been on every trail ride, been to Bandera, just a lot of good memories with the animal," Henson said.
Henson went to do her routine of feeding Sunshine, her other horse Avatar, and the landowners two donkeys.
"The donkeys were there, Avatar was there, but Sunshine wasn't there," Henson said.
Henson knew something was wrong.
"She didn't come up. She always comes up. Especially when I shake cookies or food," Henson said.
After looking through the 66-acre land, Henson talked to the neighbor who found a hole in the fence between the two properties.
"There is a hole in the fence that somebody made through there. I don't know if they took her through there. I don't know," Henson said.
According to Henson, the owner of the neighboring property has had several issues with burglaries and vandalism.
Concerned for their safety, the other animals were moved to different locations.
"I talked to the Sheriff's department. They came out and did a report," Henson said.
The Bee County Sheriff put out a plea on social media asking for the public to keep an eye out at local sale barns, on craigslist or auction houses or Sunshine/
"Like the color of margarine, white main and tail, she has a little star on her forehead," Henson said.
Henson is no stranger to heartache. Back in February, her son Juanito Dunbar was shot in killed on Baker Street in Corpus Christi.
Sunshine was Dunbar's favorite horse.
"Sunshine is my therapy. She's just a really good horse. She's a part of our family, and you know I would like to have her back," Henson said. "No questions asked."
If you have any information regarding Sunshine's whereabouts, call the Bee County Sheriff's Office at 361-362-322 or Henson at 361-774-1884.
