Human skeletal remains discovered in New Braunfels

According to a Facebook post by the New Braunfels Police Department, human skeletal remains were discovered in the FM 1044 and Green Valley Road area on Tuesday.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The New Braunfels Police Department took to Facebook on Wednesday to alert the public that human skeletal remains were found Tuesday afternoon in the area of FM 1044 and Green Valley Road.

In the post, the department stated utility crews working in the area discovered the remains and called police.

Police said initial forensic analysis indicates the skeletal remains are from an adult, but no additional details about age, gender, conditions or manner of death are available.

According to police, the remains that were found are now part of an ongoing investigation that will require further forensic analysis.

Those in the area of FM 1044 and Green Valley Road can expect continued police presence as they search for additional remains.

As the search for additional remains goes on, traffic on Green Valley Road between FM 1044 and Ron Road will be closed for the majority of the day on Wednesday and all traffic will be diverted down Ron Road to Morningside Drive.
