HOUSTON - Two girls who took photos with a stolen iPhone that showed up on the victim's iCloud have been identified, Houston police said Friday.
They were tracked down after a story about them ran on KHOU11 News.
Police said the girls are both minors, so their identities aren t being released. Police have questioned one of the girls and are still looking for the other one.
The victim, Chau Nguyen, was at the Galleria s Hello Kitty store with her childrenWednesday when she put her iPhone in her stroller pocket. Within seconds, it was gone.
Two girls seen by a store clerk were also gone.
Nguyen was later surprised to find new photos of strangers automatically posting to her online iCloud account.
Nguyen used her iPhone tracker, which traced the phone to Allen Parkway Village near downtown.
Police questioned a woman at the address and she identified the girls in the photos as her two cousins, who had just left.
Police are still trying to track down the stolen phone.
