When will the 183 North Mobility project be complete?

The new $612 million project extends nine miles from State Highway 45 North to MoPac in northwest Austin and is aimed at reducing travel times.
The nine-mile long project stretches from 183 at MoPac through State Hwy 45.

AUSTIN, Texas — Navigating orange cones, slowing down for work trucks and changing lanes has become the norm when traveling along North Highway 183 to and from the Cedar Park area into Austin. But how much longer will drivers feel the impacts? The short answer is a good while more.

The 183 North Mobility project is a nine mile project along 183 stretching from MoPac up to State Highway 45.

The project includes the construction of two express lanes in each direction and the addition of a general purpose lane to bring the number of non-tolled lanes to four in each direction.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is hopeful this project will result in an ease to construction while providing more reliable travel times for transit and emergency vehicles.

Drivers can expect lane changes through the summer.

The expected completion of the 183 North Mobility project is 2026.
