Two people have been arrested in connection with a non-fatal shooting where a woman shot a man after an argument early Sunday at a Mobil gas station on the city's west side.

The woman and an unidentified male were arrested late Sunday, according to Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski, who said more details are expected to be released later.

The shooting happened at the gas station, 15510 Fenkell, at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, after a blue Dodge Charger, occupied by two black females and two black males pulled into the station.

Shortly after, an older-model green Pontiac Grand Prix pulled into the lot and a heated argument started between the occupants of both vehicles, police said.

One of the females shown in a video released by police retrieved a semi-automatic handgun from the blue Charger and fired several times into the Grand Prix, striking the driver multiple times.

Police said the driver was stunned by the shots and lunged the vehicle forward, knocking down one of the males from the blue Charger.

One of the males from the Grand Prix was able to wrestle the gun away from the female and both vehicles fled from the area, police said.

The victim was driven to a hospital, but a short time later, all of the occupants of the Grand Prix returned to the gas station and surrendered their weapon to officers.

The shooting happened at a Project Green Light facility, which is part of an initiative that allows Detroit police to monitor some gas stations across the city through high-definition cameras. City officials announced the project earlier this year and said they hoped the effort would deter crime and lead to faster arrests and identifications of suspects.

Since the start of the new year, gas station owners involved in the project have been transmitting high-definition video to the Real Time Crime Center at Detroit’s Public Safety Headquarters, where staff can pull up video feeds in real time and quickly respond to reports and complaints.
