LAKE TRAVIS, Texas — Three people were hospitalized after a fire on a Lake Travis party barge Saturday night, the Travis County Sheriff's Office said.
According to Lake Travis Fire and Rescue, the fire happened around 11:24 p.m. on Starnes Island. A group of people rented the houseboat, whose power generator began malfunctioning. LTFR said 11 people were on board -- nine partiers, one rental person working on the generator and one woman who was with him.
Officials said three people were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center -- two partiers and the rental representative. One female suffered burns on 80 percent of her body, both second- and third-degree. The other two had burns on their legs. At least one of the three victims was transported by STAR Flight.
Officials reported Monday that the victims remained in the hospital.
The Fire Marshall's Office will be investigating.
