AUSTIN -- A man is accused of not stopping to render aid after he hit a police car Tuesday, according to an arrest affidavit.
According to police, the incident happened at the intersection of East Riverside Drive and Crossing Place. John Jett, 33, drove straight through the intersection, hitting the police car.
As another officer was requesting EMS, he noticed Jett driving off. Jett told officers he left the scene because he was in shock.
The officer was taken to the hospital, and treated for an injury to his head, scrapes to both arms and general soreness, police said.
Jett is charged with failure to stop and render aid, a third-degree felony. His bond is set at $10,000.
