The Austin School Board voted unanimously Monday night to fire a middle school principal charged with online solicitation of a minor.
The school board voted terminated Burnet Middle School principal David Dean after his arrest for allegedly sending inappropriate messages to an 11-year-old girl.

Dean had been on administrative leave since his arrest. Dean's arrest affidavit detailed the inappropriate messages he allegedly sent the girl.
Dean is a 10-year employee with the Austin Independent School District. He can appeal his termination before it is finalized.
