TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Are you having a rough day at work? That's okay, remember -- it could be worse. You could be straddling an alligator in the middle of the road in the Texas heat.
While this isn't the norm for most North Texas agencies, it was the predicament that deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) found themselves in on Wednesday.
TCSO posted a video on X of deputies wrangling an alligator in the middle of a roadway. Once deputies were able to secure the gator, after some snarling and bite attempts, they straddled it and taped its mouth shut to ensure it would not be able to bite them.
The video then shows the deputies pulling the gator by its tail to its new location, which is somewhere in the nature preserve off Eagle Mountain Lake, according to TCSO.
Lastly, the video showed TCSO deputies removing the binding from the gator's mouth to set him or her free!
"No gators or deputies were injured in the making of this video," TCSCO said in its post on X.
