AUSTIN — The website apartmentguide.com recently came out with a blog that showcases Austin in a different way.
The blog showed how Austin is laid out based on the most popular businesses.
In the blog they laid out the city on a map showing what businesses were more popular based on the zip code. Their map shows businesses that are at least three times more popular in each Austin zip code. Also included in Apartment Guide's map are a few landmarks, such as interstates, major highways, the University of Texas and the airport.
In their study, Apartment Guide found that Austin's most common businesses were pretty typical for most cities with professional services like doctors, lawyers, and real estate agents.
Their research even got down to what type of cuisine is more popular in a certain zip code, which allowed Austin to show off it's diversity as Austinites most popular cuisine was much more evenly distributed than other cities.
The blog stated the top two most popular types of cuisine were American and Mexican, which will come as no surprise to most Austinites.
Going down the list the blog even included most popular leisure activities by zip code and even most popular types of shopping showing how Austinites may travel for different things in different parts of the city.
