AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) said its officers responded to the scene of a collision resulting in a traffic fatality June 26 in Austin.

Just before 7:20 a.m., law enforcement arrived to the 7200 block of South Congress Avenue in response to the crash, which involved a driver and a pedestrian.

Austin-Travis County Medical Services (ATCEMS) arrived and performed CPR on an adult victim, who was then transported as a trauma-alert patient to St. David's South Austin.

The victim died at the hospital in Austin's 36th fatal crash this year, and the driver involved is reportedly complying with officers in the investigative process.
