Vehicle crashes into Goodwill store in South Austin Friday afternoon

Two people were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries, as a result of the crash.

AUSTIN, Texas — Two people have been taken to the hospital after a vehicle crashed into a Goodwill store in South Austin Friday afternoon.

According to an official with Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS), the call came in at around 3:30 p.m. Friday. ATCEMS and the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to the Goodwill, located in the 6500 block of Burleson Road.

ATCEMS located and transported two adult victims to the hospital, one dealing with serious injuries under a trauma alert and one with non-life threatening injuries.

APD has not said if anyone will face charges.

On Friday, Goodwill provided a statement to KVUE: "Around 3:30 on Friday, we were notified of an emergency at the Goodwill Outlet on Burleson Road. The safety of our customers and Team Members is our top priority. We are working closely with authorities and will continue to do so as the investigation continues. Because this is an active investigation, we cannot discuss confidential matters beyond this point."

The Goodwill location announced on the social media platform X Friday night that it would be closed on Saturday, with no information regarding when it may reopen.
