APD looking for suspect accused of stealing packages in Mueller neighborhood

The stolen packages included vital medical supplies needed by a child, police said.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is looking for a young person accused of stealing packages in the Mueller neighborhood in East Austin.

Police say the person stole two packages from the front porch of a home in the 2500 block of Zach Scott Street around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 15. Inside one of those stolen packages were important medical supplies needed by a child.

The suspect took off in a silver SUV, possibly a Kia Sportage, according to police.

The suspect is described as a young Hispanic man or woman with short hair. They were last seen wearing a yellow Chicago Bulls hat, a white shirt, black basketball shorts and pink bracelets on their left wrist. The suspect has a scripture tattoo on their inner left wrist and forearm, as well as an elbow ditch tattoo on their right arm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 512-472-8477 or by visiting austincrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
