AUSTIN, Texas — An investigation is underway after a deadly stabbing in South Austin.
According to Austin police, multiple calls came in just after 4 p.m. about a stabbing at a gas station on South 1st Street near Dittmar Road.
When officers arrived, they found a man bleeding in the parking lot. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Meanwhile, officers were able to locate a person of interest across the street at another nearby gas station. Police said it's unclear what led up to the stabbing and if the two men knew each other.
The stabbing is currently being investigated as Austin's 60th homicide of 2024. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Austin police homicide tipline at 512-974-8477.
