AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Fire Department responded to an odd fire Sunday morning, according to the Austin Fire PIO.
Crews arrived on scene at Riverside and Willow Creek around 8:20 a.m. after receiving reports of a fire in a storm water tunnel, which appeared to have been inhabited by transients.
Crews did not find any potential victims, but reported a large number of mattresses and other debris burning in a series of tunnels.
The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes and crews were working on extinguishing the fire completely and removing debris.
No injuries were reported.
