According to a memo obtained from the Austin Fire Department, a firefighter has been suspended for allegedly driving while intoxicated back in June.

On June 13, the memo states off-duty firefighter Blake Mashburn was eating at a Sonic Drive-in in Cedar Park when he was approached by a police officer. The police officer said he was called to the restaurant after receiving reports of Mashburn's alleged reckless driving.

Mashburn was questioned by two officers and refused to perform the field sobriety test. He was then taken back to the police department where his blood alcohol content was at .126.

According to Williamson County Jail's online records, he was charged with driving while intoxicated, having an open container of alcohol and being in possession of a dangerous drug.

After an investigation, AFD suspended him for 60 days starting on Aug. 4.

In addition to his suspension, Mashburn will be required to attend a counseling or rehab program for alcohol-related issues, the memo states. He also will be subject to random alcohol testing and will be placed on a probationary period of one year.
