AUSTIN — "Supernatural" star Jared Padalecki appeared on "Live with Kelly and Ryan" Thursday morning to discuss the show's 14th season, but the conversation mainly focused on where he lives -- Austin.
The show has had plenty of time to develop fans over its 14 years, and many of them know the show's two main stars -- Padalecki and Jensen Ackles -- live in the Austin area with their wives and kids.
They've also built up a tight relationship with Austin Mayor Steve Adler, who declared June 23 "Supernatural Day" in Austin earlier this year.

“I didn’t really believe it was going to happen," Padalecki told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. "I had heard, ‘Oh, the mayor’s going to go' -- Mayor Adler who I love -- 'is going to go and declare Supernatural Day.' Didn’t believe it, and so I literally called the mayor’s office."
He went on to say he has a few friends in the Austin Police Department who helped him reach the mayor, only to find out it was all true. Adler indeed granted not just the stars, but the entire show, an official Austin holiday in June this year.
"It wasn’t Jared Padalecki Day or Jensen Ackles Day, it was Supernatural Day, which to me is … we have like a family that’s grown … it represents our fans, and our cast and the whole crew," said Padalecki.
