AUSTIN, Texas — A new and improved IKEA shopping experience is making its way to Central Texas, perfect for furniture and Swedish meatball enthusiasts.
On Jan. 17, the furniture store revealed plans on four new Plan & Order and pick-up points across the U.S., including one in the Austin area, expected to possibly open as early as this 2024.
The new store will be located at 3306 Esperanza Crossing at the Domain.
The pick-up stores are designed for specialists to assist shoppers in deciding on specific home plans while organizing orders and deliveries at the designated pick-up points.
This new style of store will also includes new locations in Atlanta and Los Angeles. This openings come after the company claims it earned $6.3 billion in total sales in 2023.
IKEA said it wants to open more of its new-style locations in Maryland, as well as near Houston in Katy, Texas.
The company said the store in the Domain will be 5,010 square feet, compared to the 306,000-square-foot location in Round Rock.
