No pool? No problem. These Austin-area hotels let you book a day pass

The dog days of summer are just around the corner, and access to a pool can feel almost essential to survive the heat.

AUSTIN, Texas — The heat is on, Central Texas.

The dog days of summer are just around the corner, and access to a pool can feel almost essential to survive the heat. But if your neighborhood or apartment complex doesn't have a pool, don't fret too much.

The following Austin-area hotels offer day passes to their pools without requiring swimmers to be overnight guests.

Bunkhouse Hotels

Bunkhouse Hotels offers day passes at three of its Austin properties.

Austin Motel

  • Day passes are available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Monday through Thursday, passes are $25 per person. Friday through Sunday, they are $50 per person
  • Adult night swim passes are also available from 5 to 10 p.m.
  • Location: 1220 S. Congress Ave.

Carpenter Hotel

  • Daily passes are available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday for $45 per person. Reserve through Resy
  • Sunday passes are available from 1 to 6 p.m. for $35 per person. Choose a Sunday on the Resy calendar to reserve a spot
  • Location: 400 Josephine St.

Hotel Magdalena

  • Daily pool passes are valid from noon to 5 p.m. and start at $30 for adults and $20 for children
  • Hotel Magdalena also offers two 21+ pool pass packages. "The Nomad" includes access to the pool from noon to 5 p.m., a complimentary appetizer and a welcome cocktail, while the "Two Travelers" includes complimentary valet, reserved loungers, a welcome bottle of house bubbles and a complimentary appetizer

Camp Lucy

Camp Lucy, a luxury getaway and wedding venue in Dripping Springs, offers pool day passes to the public. Reservations are required and day passes are only available for adults over the age of 18 – children are not allowed.

The pool is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and pool passes are available for $30 per person. Camp Lucy is located at 3509 Creek Road in Dripping Springs.

Fairmont Austin

The Fairmont Austin offers day passes to its pool on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. However, all guests using the cabanas or pools on the weekends must be registered guests of the hotel. Day passes start at $40 for adults and $30 for children.

Fairmont Austin is located at 101 Red River St.

The LINE Hotel

The LINE Hotel's pool is open daily and only reserved for hotel guests on the weekends. Day passes can be purchased online for $40, and the pool is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The LINE Hotel is located at 111 E. Cesar Chavez St.

Omni hotels

The Omni offers day passes and cabana rentals for outside guests at both its Downtown and Barton Creek locations based on availability.

Omni Austin Hotel Downtown

  • Pool hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and day passes start at $25 for adults and $15 for children
  • Location: 700 San Jacinto St.

Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa

  • Pool hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and day passes start at $25 for both adults and children
  • Location: 8212 Barton Club Drive

Otopia Rooftop

The Otopia Rooftop in West Campus is open from 5 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. It offers day pass reservations starting at $30 and also offers $10 per hour self-parking and $15 per hour valet parking for the first three hours. Each additional hour is $10.

Otopia Rooftop is located at 1901 San Antonio St., Unit 1100.

WET Deck at W Austin

For non-hotel guests, WET Deck Pool hours are Sunday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the purchase of a day pass. All non-hotel guests must be 21 years old or older or accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The W Austin is located at 200 Lavaca St.

The Westin Austin Downtown

The Westin offers day passes to its Azul Rooftop Pool from 1 to 5 p.m. daily starting at $50.

The Westin is located at 310 E. Fifth St.

Of course, if hotel pools aren't exactly your style, there are also dozens of public, city-run pools throughout Austin. Below is a list of year-round pool facilities and pools that are open as of June 10. Most pools are free to enter, but some require daily entry fees ranging from $2 to $9.

City of Austin pools

The following city-run splash pads are also open through Oct. 31:

The Pease Splashpad, operated by the Pease Park Conservancy, is also open at 1100 Kingsbury St.
