Which non-Texan US president has visited Austin the most while in office?

He visited Austin seven times while president, including twice in one year.

AUSTIN, Texas — Monday’s visit to Austin by President Joe Biden was one in a long line of official presidential visits to our city.

Of course, President George W. Bush was a frequent visitor to Austin during his two terms as president, and another Central Texan, President Lyndon B. Johnson, was an Austin regular during his time in office in the 1960s.

But the title for the most visits for a non-Texan goes to President Barrack Obama. He visited Austin while in office in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, twice in 2014 and again in 2016.

Other presidents who made an official visit while in office include President Donald Trump, who toured Austin’s Apple facility in 2022. President Ronald Reagan visited Austin in 1984, and President Richard M. Nixon was on hand for the dedication of the LBJ Presidential Library on the University of Texas campus in May 1971.

Looking further back over the past 90 years, Austin merited a visit from President Dwight Eisenhower in 1959, President Harry Truman in 1948 and President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who arrived in Austin by train for a 1936 visit.
