Austin Public Library no longer charging overdue fees for children’s items

The Austin Public Library will no longer charge fees on overdue children's items.

AUSTIN — It's getting easier for kids and people who don't live in Austin to use the public library.

Excluding laptops, Austin Public Library will no longer charge overdue fees on children's items. But, if you lose or damage something, the library will still charge you.

And the library is changing a policy for people who don't live in Austin. Non-residents can now pay $22 for an eCard, a full year of online access to Austin Public Library's Virtual Library.
