AUSTIN, Texas — Multiple people were hurt following a shooting on Monday afternoon in East Austin.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the incident started as a fight between two people in the parking lot of Citi Trends on Airport Boulevard.
Police said the shooting started as a scuffle between a group of family members who share a child when a gun went off in the group. At least two people were shot, and a third person was hurt in the incident. All of the people involved were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
APD said there is no threat to the public following the shooting and the investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile, Citi Trends will remain closed for an unknown amount of time as police investigate.
